There was a farm (echo)
And in that field (echo) There is a vine (echo)
And on that vine (echo) There is a pumpkin (echo)
And in that pumpkin (echo) There are some seeds (echo)
Loosely based on "The Green Grass Grew All Around" – in a minor key! On my recording there's slightly spooky organ music by Donna Rubinson to blow in the song!
This song can be done with no props/visuals – children flap their
arms like bat-wings during each refrain.
Make a feltboard visual – a felt barn, bats, green yarn vine, pumpkins and seeds.
Make a bats from construction paper or funfoam (pattern below), attach to a "scrunchy" covered hair-elastic so the children can fly the bats during each refrain.
Age range: older 3's – 7 years old
Purpose: sequencing, memory, non-Halloween seasonal song, gross motor skill
